5 TIPS FOR A RESTFUL POSTPARTUM PERIOD

Postpartum period refers to the first six weeks after childbirth. It is a joyous time, but it's also a period of adjustment and healing for mothers. And the time to best bond with their baby!

Through this article, let’s focus on what you can do as a new mother in your postpartum period;

  1. Your partner, friends, relatives and others can help you around with household chores while you solely focus on your baby.

  1. Try to find a quiet space where you can bond with your baby, gently murmuring or cooing while outsourcing everything.

  1. Pre-prepare meals for this time to adequately nourish yourself, so that you don’t have to worry about cooking.

  1. Choose foods that are easy to digest and packed with nutrients and hydrate yourself so that you have the energy to take care of your baby.

  1. You may experience “baby blues” or even postpartum depression caused by hormonal changes, post pregnancy. If you feel sad, low, anxious or are struggling in any way, speak to your loved ones for emotional support. If that does not help, speak to a medical professional.
